Smart cities, manufacturing and logistics among topics to be explored at IoT Conference and Developer Day 2020


The 2020 MTN Business loT Conference and Developer Day will explore loT (Internet of Things) solutions in mining, agriculture, manufacturing, fleet management and logistics, connected healthcare, smart cities and utilities, and will be headlined by Vint Cerf – Vice President of Google and Internet pioneer commonly known as the Father of the Internet.

The sixth annual event will this year be held online and promises to provide explosive, cutting-edge content, delivered by a combination of local and international hardhitters on loT. Previous events have attracted hundreds of delegates and this year promises to be bigger and more accessible than ever.

The IoT Conference is one of South Africa’s flagship future technologies and innovation summits. It has established itself as the largest and most significant IoT platform on the African continent and brings together some of the top IoT experts in the country.

This year, the country’s top seven IoT solutions within each vertical will have the opportunity to pitch to a panel of top corporates and key ICT stakeholders. This will be an innovative matchmaking day made possible and facilitated by MTN Business – for potential clients and service providers to meet and engage.

This will be followed by a comprehensive online conference looking at the latest trends, opportunities and innovations within the IoT sector locally and globally, with insight from some of the world’s leading IoT experts.

The event kicks off at 9:00 on Wednesday 18 November and begins with IoT Developer presentations on IoT in Mining, Connected Healthcare, Smart Utilities, Agricultural IoT, Industrial IoT and Manufacturing, Smart Cities, Fleet and Logistics.

From 14:30 to 16:30 the IoT Conference proper will be underway.
