Reutech Radar Systems celebrates 25th anniversary

Reutech Radar Systems recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, with a function for clients and stakeholders at Overture Restaurant, on the Hidden Valley Wine Estate outside Stellenbosch.

The luncheon function included various addresses by previous CEOs and key clients.

Helmoed Römer-Heitman delivered the keynote address, focusing on the South African Defence Review. Reutech Mining’s distributors from North America (Mala Geosciences) and Australasia(Rock Australisia) also attended the celebrations.

“Twenty-five years ago, a small company was formed to design and build radar systems. Although it lacked proven engineering and radar experience, the abundance of raw talent, energy and can-do attitude, resulted in the establishment of a unique and credible radar system house, today supplying radar products and solutions globally. This meant a gradual shift from learning through R&D, towards concept and prototype engineering, towards small-scale production, to a stage today where the production of niche solutions is a significant part of the business,” says Carl Kies, current CEO.

A book, celebrating the 25 years, will be published at the end of this year.
