Nautic celebrates the launch of the first 27m ferry for its partners in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, CITRANS. Nautic welcomed CITRANS and its delegation to Cape Town to celebrate the launch and sea trials of the first ferry that will form part of the 40-strong fleet.

Early morning on 2 December 2016, the roads were closed and P317 made her way to water. After a successful launch and tender to Nautic’s Hamlet quay, harbour acceptance testing and systems commissioning was completed.
The next day, “Lady Dominique” was christened with the traditional spillage of champagne over her bows by the CEO of CITRANS.
She has been named in honour of the first lady of the Ivory Coast (Madam Dominique Quattara).
For her sea trials, the delegation was collected from the Nelson Mandela gateway ferry terminal at the V&A Waterfront, and full testing of all her systems and performance specifications was performed, with BV and DGAMP in witness.
Lady Dominique was loaded onto deck cargo and made her way safely to her arrival in Abidjan on the 28 December 2016.
