Held in Moscow, the HeliRussia is the only exhibition in Russia to feature the whole range of products and services of the helicopter industry, from design, production and modernisation up to operation and servicing. At this year’s event, Hensoldt displayed its airborne electro-optical (EO) systems, Goshawk-II HD and Argos-II HD.
The 10th edition of HeliRussia had a record 237 exhibitors from 21 countries, including big manufacturers such as Airbus Helicopters, Leonardo Helicopters and Bell Helicopter, making it the biggest specialised helicopter exhibition in Europe and the second largest show in the world.
Hensoldt’s Goshawk-II HD and Argos-II HD are developed and manufactured at its site in Irene, South Africa. Both systems are optimised for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) applications and ITAR-free.
Argos-II HD is the company’s most advanced stabilised airborne EO surveillance system and has been designed to provide fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft with ruggedised observation and targeting capabilities in adverse weather and light conditions. This makes the system especially interesting for military applications.
The Argos-II HD’s latest platform installations include Denel’s Seeker 400 UAV and Paramount Group’s new AHRLAC Reconnaissance Aircraft. It is as well earmarked for Denel’s planned Rooivalk Attack Helicopter upgrade programme.
Goshawk-II HD and its variants have been designed for the integration on UAVs and light aircraft. Thus, with Goshawk-II HD, Hensoldt provides armed forces, border and maritime patrols as well as law enforcement with a cost-effective, lightweight dynamic solution for today’s challenges. Goshawk-II HD has been installed on Denel’s Seeker 200 UAV, Baykar TB2 UAV, Schiebel’s Camcopter, Diamond Da-42 and onto various helicopter platforms.
