DCD Protected Mobility, division of DCD Group, takes centre stage at Land Forces East Africa Exhibition 2014, Tanzania

A two-day Land Forces Defence and Security Exhibition was launched on 15 July 2014 by the minister of Defence and National Service of Tanzania, Hussein Mwinyi.

Apart from the exhibition of armed vehicles and equipment, there were presentations of papers in various defence and security matters, including on enhancing mobile surveillance at borders, and entry and exit points to curb illicit activity in East Africa.

Mike Thusi, business development manager (Africa and Emerging Markets) of DCD Protected Mobility, supported by Idah Mabaso, provided an outstanding and well-received presentation on: “Affordable Localised Landward Defence Solutions for Africa” and opportunities to pursue were identified in Uganda, on the Husky upgrade/offer on new technology; Turkey, on joint venture/the co-development of manufacturing; and Tanzania, where opportunities are wide open for trade.

The DCD Protected Mobility stand was a true reflection of superb display; a Silver sponsor which received more coverage than Platinum sponsors. The Citizen and the Guardian Mail covered the launch of the East Africa Land Systems Exhibition, with DCD Protected Mobility as the preferred stand.

Many eminent guests visited the DCD Protected Mobility Stand during the exhibition period.
