SA, Namibia meet on security and defence

South African and Namibian ministers as well as officials are meeting in Cape Town to discuss public and state security as well as defence.
The 9th session of the RSA Namibia Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security (JPCDS) is currently in session and is examining progress made on matters agreed to during the last meeting that was held at Ondangwa in northern Namibia in September last year.
Key among the issues to be discussed will be the matter of interstate security related to next year`s FIFA World Cup Soccer tournament.
The South African Security Cluster Delegation is led by defence minister Lindiwe Sisulu.
The Namibian delegation is led by her Namibian counterpart Major General retired Charles D.N.P. Namoloh, and includes Safety and Security minister Nickey Iyambo, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration Stefanus Negumbo and the Namibian High Commissioner to SA PK Kambala.
