An explosion in the centre of Kenya’s capital Nairobi evening killed one person and wounded eight, the Kenyan Red Cross said.
“Eight casualties rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital, one dead after explosion,” the Red Cross said on its Twitter feed.
The blast came the same day a grenade exploded in a Nairobi bar, wounding 13 people, and two days after the U.S. embassy in Kenya warned that an attack was imminent as the east African nation fights Islamist militants in neighbouring Somalia, Reuters reports.
