US seeks wheat for African nations

The US Agriculture Department has issued a tender for 35 590 tonnes of hard red winter wheat for donation to Mozambique, Burundi, and Malawi.

Offers are due June 25 with results expected June 26. Delivery to the vessel is July 27 to Aug 5, added Reuters.

The US government is the largest provider of food aid in the world. It bought more than 2.8 million tonnes of bulk and processed commodities worth more than $1.3 billion in the fiscal year ended September 30.
