JSE-listed Bidvest Group has, via a donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the SA Air Force (SAAF), shown its commitment to assisting the national defence force respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
Chief of Air Staff Governance, Major General Motshabi Sehlolo, accepted 200 litres of sanitiser with “a large number” of dispensers from senior Bidvest personnel at AFB Swartkop in Centurion.
Among them were Shaun Botha from G Fox, a Bidvest Group company which manufactures and distributes hand sanitiser, and Bidvest Group commercial executive, Akhona Ngcuka-Matsau.
She told the gathering at the SAAF’s oldest base it was an honour and privilege for Bidvest to contribute to efforts by the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) in the ongoing fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Ngcuka-Matsau thanked SAAF personnel identifying them as a group “prepared to put their own lives in danger” to beat the pandemic.
“The entire Bidvest Group supports the fight and looks forward to victory when smiles, kisses, hugs and handshakes will return,” she said.
Donations of sanitiser and PPE to the SANDF have come from other companies including Rheinmetall Denel Munition.
