The South African Police Service Air Wing is seeking product support services from the aviation industry for its aircraft and helicopters. The police operate about 40 rotorcraft and fixed-wing aeroplanes.
The national law enforcer last week issued requests for quotations (RFQ) to 11 companies for product support services for its fleet of six Robinson R44 and one McDonnell Douglas MD369E helicopters. Denel (Pty) Ltd t/a Denel Aviation, Pilatus Aircraft Ltd c/o Intertechnic (Pty) Ltd, Turbomeca Africa (Pty) Ltd, Execujet Maintenance (Pty) Ltd, Comair Sales (Pty) Ltd, Precision Aviation Services, Mtha Aviation, Pilatus PC12 Centre SA, Lemang Aviation Support, Greystone Aviation and Ado Air Aviation have until June 9 to respond.
They were also asked to respond by the same date to similar RFQs in connection with the police’s one Cessna Citation C680 Sovereign, sole Bombardier Learjet 31A, only Hawker Beechcraft Beechjet 400 and one Beechcraft King Air C90A.
The police last month issued similar RFQs to seven companies in connection with its fleet of 13 Eurocopter MBB BO-105, 1 MBB BK117, 14 Squirrel AS350 B2 and B3 helicopters as well as its Pilatus PC6 and PC12 aircraft.
