More vehicles recovered by soldiers on border patrol


Members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) have recovered more vehicles whilst on Operation Corona border patrols.

The SANDF on 23 July said members were busy with a standing patrol on the RSA/Zimbabwe border when they confiscated a VW Amarok vehicle valued at R50 000, loaded with illicit cigarettes valued at R845 560.

On 22 July, soldiers managed to recover a stolen vehicle in KwaZulu-Natal near the Mozambican border. Members from 14 South African Infantry Battalion were conducting foot patrols near Gate 8 when they saw a Toyota Legend Double Cab. The vehicle was reported stolen at Manguzi and it is estimated to be worth R260 000.

The South African Police Service was contacted and the vehicle was taken to Manguzi Police Station.
