The South African National Defence Force has ordered spare parts for its stock of Klepper Commando 11 collapsible kayaks. The only known operator of these kayaks is the Special Forces. The order, placed last week Thursday, is worth R351 354.85 to Cape-based Stingray Marine.

As far as can be determined from the Armscor Bulletin System, this is the first order of kayak spares since 2007. Then Manex & Power Marine of Cape Town were awarded a purchase order of R73 977.10 for various spares.

The SANDF separately awarded Stingray Marine a R64 046.40 copntract for the procurement of a dry bag 50hp Yamaha outboard motor.
