The South African Navy (SAN) is next month hosting the 3rd Sea Power for Africa symposium at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The Navy says the symposium is a forum where the chiefs of African navies can discuss “matters of mutual maritime importance in order to create greater understanding, co-operation and friendship within the continent”.
This event also provides an opportunity for the Chiefs to meet and share their experiences regarding the maritime environment.
It will be the second time the SAN will be hosting this event. A Navy spokesman says the theme is “Towards effective maritime governance for Africa”.
The spokesman says fifty African states and eighteen observer states navies from outside Africa have been invited to attend this event.
