Hensoldt colleagues handed out ‘cup-a-soup packets’ to the school children at Irene Middle School.
In the spirit of this year’s theme for Mandela Day – to take action against poverty in South Africa – Hensoldt colleagues donated ‘cup-a-soup packets’ during the month of July. Additionally, at the beginning of August, colleagues visited the Irene Middle School to give out soup to the school children.
“More than 63% of South African children live in poverty; one in five – that is 12 million – South Africans live in extreme poverty. Our intention is to eradicate poverty from the face of the earth. We have to be that bold,” said the Nelson Mandela Foundation’s director of Communication and Outreach, Luzuko Koti, at this year’s official Mandela Day event.
Hensoldt would like to thank all its employees for their contribution to those who are in need. The company is proud to support such social responsibility initiatives. Mandela Day asks us all to “take action; inspire change; make every day a Mandela Day”.
