Two Pretoria-based hi-tech companies joined forces to assist the Mahube Valley Secondary School in Mamelodi by donating a library. The official opening takes place on Friday, 16 March at 10:30am.
Hensoldt Optronics and GEW Technologies identified this award-winning school for its outstanding results. The companies now aim to improve the learners’ results in mathematics, physical science and English, which would greatly enhance their abilities to embark on careers in science, engineering and technology (SET).
“As hi-tech companies, we are constantly on the look-out for young South Africans to entice into careers that would both benefit the youth and our own pool of skilled employees,” explains Sihle Mayisela. “A library at the school would go a long way in giving the senior learners access to material and educational tools required in their studies. We would be keeping a keen eye on their progress in years to come.”
