SANDF to host Prestige Week


The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will host Prestige Week in Pretoria from 22 to 26 October in order to encourage fitness and social cohesion amongst members of the SANDF through sports as fundamentals of a combat-ready force.

The Chief of the South African National Defence Force (C SANDF), General Solly Shoke will officially open the Prestige week in a parade at the Pretoria Military Sports Club (PMSC) in Thaba Tshwane on Monday 22 October at 10h00. A variety of sports, recreational and cultural activities which will include football, netball, rugby, combat rifle shooting, pistol shooting, small caliber rifle shooting, swimming, cycling, fresh water angling, athletics, basketball, cricket, handball, table tennis, tennis, athletics, bowls, golf, jukskei, walking, music and cultural competition, will take place at various venues in Pretoria over the above period, the SANDF said in a statement.

Teams from different Services and Divisions of the SANDF will compete and top achievers will be acknowledged during the C SANDF gala dinner at SAMHS Training Formation on 26 October 2018.
