The Department of Defence has appointed Major General (Maj Gen) Barney Hlatshwayo as Chief Director (CD) Ops Dev at the Joint Operations Division of the South African National Defence Force. His appointment is one of many announced Friday in the annual appointments and promotion list for brigadier- and major general.
Maj Gen DD Mdutyana has been appointed CD Ops and Maj Gen W Nkonyeni is GOC J Ops HQ.
Other notable appointments include Maj Gen LM Dlulane as Deputy Chief of SANDF Corporate Staff. Among the promotions is that of Rear Admiral (Junior Grade) AG Green to the substantive rank of R Adm as CD Strategy & Plans. Brig Gen L. Yam has been advanced to the substantive rank of Maj Gen and appointed General Officer Commanding the SA Army Infantry Formation.
