Army Reserves retreat

Yet another indicator of trying times facing the South African military came at an SA Army Reserves retreat this month with the exhortation to “arise and build” in line with a chaplain’s message.

Rev FA Kuzwayo told those at the Limpopo resort where the retreat took place they should follow this route and “be brave” in their task of improving the Reserve component of the largest service of the SA National Defence Force (SANDF).

A contribution by an officer in the Directorate: SA Army Reserve has it commanders and staff officers attending the retreat contributed constructively to problem solving and worked toward improving conditions of service of Reserves as well as looking to more effective utilisation of the Reserve component of the landward force.

While there has as yet been no official announcement as regards a successor to Brigadier General Gerhard Kamffer, now director Project Koba-Tlala, as Director: SA Army Reserve, the SA Army Reserve report notes this position is held by Brigadier General Freeman Moni.
