Armscor and ATNS agree to assist each other - Armscor Press Office | defenceWeb
Armscor Press Release

Armscor and ATNS agree to assist each other

The latest addition to efforts to assure revenue flow to State-owned defence and security acquisition company, Armscor, sees it become a partner to another State-owned entity in the form of Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS).

A three-year partnership between Armscor and the company responsible for air traffic control and associated management services will see collaboration in, according to an Armscor statement, "evaluating and configuring projects/programmes and contract management in the communication, navigation, surveillance and information technology areas".

Speaking at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) confirming the partnership, Armscor chief executive Solomzi Mbada said collaboration and strategic partnerships with state agencies and industry in the broader sense was important.

"Armscor is ready to use its expertise and experience to provide ATNS with quality services. The aim is to add value and help ATNS achieve their objectives," he said, with Dumisani Sangweni, the delegated chief executive of the Johannesburg headquartered aviation service provider, reported as saying ATNS "is looking forward to learning about best practices in project and contract management and in sharing own expertise, knowledge and experiences".

"This will allow us to achieve an effective integrated business management system and a path of efficiency in our processes while successfully carrying out our mandate," the statement has Sangweni saying.

Mbada is on record as saying the Armscor/ATNS partnership "will create a platform for Armscor to demonstrate its capability and pave the way for more effective and efficient business processes aimed at generating revenue".
