Bulgarian weapons manufacturer Arsenal looking for Africa agents

Bulgarian diversified defence and tool company Arsenal is looking for representatives in a number of African countries.

The company, which manufactures a wide range of assault rifles, light and heavy machine guns, air defence systems, and anti-tank grenade launchers as well as ammunition, is already represented by Atlantic Technologies Ltd. (ATL) in South Africa and Kenya. It also has agents in Egypt and Libya.

Arsenal, which was privatised after the fall of Communism, is the biggest company in Bulgaria and employs about 7 200 people. It is one of the few companies to manufacture both Russian and Nato standard weapons and ammunition. One of its products is an assault rifle based on the AK pattern. It also manufactures milling machines and equipment for forges.

Dimitar Dimitrov, Arsenal’s Regional Manager for Africa, sees good opportunities across the continent as many armies and security forces already use Russian weapons. Companies representing Arsenal would be involved local marketing, sales and support, said Dimitrov.
