BAE Systems bids for Warrior upgrade contract

BAE Systems has bid for the contract to upgrade the army’s fleet of Warrior infantry fighting vehicles.
The bid was submitted earlier this week, a day before the November 18 deadline, and is for the £1billion Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme (WCSP), which will provide the mainstay of the British army’s frontline fleet in Afghanistan and future conflicts, the company said yesterday.
BAE, which is the manufacturer of the Warrior, said it had invested over 40 million pounds to develop a new design for the vehicle that meets the UK Ministry of Defence’s protection requirements.
