A Central African country has received a first batch of KrAZ-6322 all terrain 6×6 trucks from Ukrainian manufacturer AutoKrAZ.
The company said on 30 December 2015 that it had fulfilled its obligations to an African customer, shipping a batch of KrAZ-6322 vehicles to Africa. Photos showed at least seven vehicles lined up for shipment.
The vehicles are configured with right hand drive, air conditioning, wide tropicalised tyres and Deutz engines rated at 272 hp. They were customised specifically for the African customer.
In September last year a military delegation from the customer nation visited AutoKrAZ ahead of deliveries of the 6×6 trucks and spare parts. During the visit the delegation viewed new models manufactured by Kremenchug Automobile Plant and witnessed the performance of KrAZ off road trucks on the company’ proving ground.
AutoKrAZ agreed to conduct training for a group of technicians and establish a KrAZ service centre in the customer country.
The company said that over 40 KrAZ trucks were scheduled to be supplied by the end of 2015, but further units would be delivered in 2016.
The KrAZ-6322 has been manufactured at the KrAZ plant since 1994 and is in service with Egypt, among other nations. It can carry up to 10 000 kg of payload. It can tow 10 000 kg in rough terrain or 30 000 kg on hard roads or aircraft on concrete airfields weighing 75 000 kg.
The truck is 9.1 metres long, 3.25 metres in overall height and 2.72 metres wide. It has a kerb mass of 12 700 kg. Features include a 12 ton winch and centralised tire inflation system. Maximum speed is 80 km/h and range is around 1 500 km.
