China’s Poly Technologies is constructing military barracks in Allada, Benin, and is due to complete them in September 2021.
The Allada barracks are due to house the general staff of Benin’s armed forces and are due to be completed in September 2021 after delays, Africa Intelligence reports.
The project has suffered from delays. Benin’s President Patrice Talon visited the Allada barracks site in February this year and urged Poly Technologies to press ahead with the project, which began in March 2019. It covers an area of more than 60 hectares.
“Once the work is completed, we will offer adequate facilities with modern and comfortable infrastructure to our armed forces for the accomplishment of their sovereign missions,” he said.
