Department of Defence to host Suppliers’ Day

1883

The South African Department of Defence (DoD) will host a Suppliers’ Day on 12 October during which it aims to build relationships with small, medium-sized and microenterprises (SMMEs).

Limited free exhibition stalls are available on a first com first serve basis for SMME’s to showcase their services, but SMME’s who will not get exhibition stalls are still welcome to attend.

The event will be held at the Department of Defence Logistic support formation (DOD LSF), Combined club, Trichardt Road, Tekbase, Lyttleton (Centurion).

The supplier’s day will kick off at 7:45 for 8:00.

DoD suppliers’ days have been held for the last several years in a row.

The purpose of the event is to enhance mutual working relations with the suppliers. The Director Procurement Management, Brigadier General Mbuyiselo Mongo will engage with suppliers during this event in order to share expert information on DOD procurement processes and to warn the suppliers and members of the DOD against fraudulent acts such as misrepresentation of Government Order(s) and other illegal activities that are prevalent in the procurement environment.
