Whether fingerprints taken by her Department are made available to the SA Police Service; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?

Fingerprints taken by the Department of Home Affairs are not made available to the SA Police Service. The Department does, however, receive requests from SA Police Service to assist it with the identification of certain individuals, by sending a full set of fingerprints to the Department.
