Whether (a) his department or (b) any (i) agency or (ii) institution which receives transfers from his departmental budget employs staff to perform the duties set out in the Minimum Information and Security Standards (Miss) that were adopted by Cabinet on 4 December 1996 or any subsequent version of the Miss; if not, why not, in each case; if so, in each case,

(aa) how many and (bb) what (aaa) is the job title, (bbb) is the employment level, (ccc) are the academic qualifications, (ddd) is the salary and (eee) are the other benefits of each specified staff member?

2.(i) The Public Entities of the Department of Health have responded as follows:
a.The National Health Laboratory Service does not employ staff to perform the duties set out in the Minimum Information and Security Standards (MISS); the entity has had in place an active programme to address Information Security.
b.The Medical Schemes Councils does not employ staff to perform the duties set out in the Minimum Information and Security Standards (MISS) as it’s not applicable at this point in time.
c.The South African Medical Research Council has established a Management Information and Knowledge Division, which collates and captures management information for executive devision-making and is responsible for MISS;
a.Two fulltime and two part time;
b.(aaa) Division Manager: Chief Information Officer, 2 x data capturers;
(bbb) Division Manager: Middle Management;

Chief Information Officer: Skilled/Academically qualified

Data Capturers: short term contract appointments;
(ccc) Division Manager: B Bibl; Post Graduate Diploma in Information and Knowledge Management (completed); MA in Information and Knowledge Management (partly completed);

Chief Information Officer: MA in Information and Knowledge Management;

Data Capturers: No post-matric academic qualification.
(ddd) Salary range:

Division Manager: R470.000,00 to R505.000,00

Chief Information Officer: R319 000,00 to R208 000,00

Data Capturers: R139 922,00 p.a (appointed on 6 months contract).
(eee) The salary range is based on an all-inclusive cost to company approach and includes all benefits such as pension, medical aid and group life insurance. The incumbents do not receive any other benefits in addition to their agreed remuneration package.
(ii) The information in respect of other institutions is not readily available in the Department.
