Parliamentary Question: DoDMV: Promotion of Access to Information Act


Mr D J Maynier (DA) to ask the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans:
(1) Whether her department received any applications for access to information in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, Act 2 of 2000, (a) in (i) 2009

and (ii) 2010 and (b) since 1 January 2011; if so, in each case, (i) what was the name of the requester, (ii) what information was requested, (iii) on what date was the application received, (iv) on what date was the requester informed of the decision and (v) what was the final decision;
(2) whether her departments complied with the 30 days’ notice period in each case; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
(3) whether she received advice from her departments on how to respond to each request; if not, what is the position in this regard; if so, (a) what was the advice in each case and (b) why was the advice (i) accepted or (ii) rejected in each case?


The Department has not completed compiling this information for the Minister’s consideration and approval. The information will be submitted in due course once completed and approved by the Minister.
