Ugandan soldiers complete training in US

Members of the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) recently completed Joint Readiness Training Centre rotation 18-04 at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

US Army Africa command said the rotation took place between 3 and 26 February this year. It added that the UPDF team partnered with the US Army’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
“This is the UDPF’s third rotation at JRTC and second time utilizing internal OC/Ts [observer, controller and trainer teams]. The rotation’s exercises included conducting reconnaissance missions, forward passage of lines, partnering with the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment for a combined raid, assisting refugees and thwarting a complex attack initiated with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device and an attack on the friendly base,” US Army Africa said.
“This training event helps participants build partner nation capacity and multinational interoperability by providing opportunities to work with a foreign partner and overcome challenges inherent in multinational operations.”
