Congolese Armed Forces Inspector General visits SA

The Inspector General of the Congolese Armed Forces, Major General Norbert Dabira and his entourage are visiting South Africa, as the guests of Major General Mxolisi Petane, the Inspector General of the South African Department of Defence.

Dabira arrived in South Africa on Wednesday on a week-long visit and met his counterpart at the South African Defence Intelligence College (SADIC) in Pretoria.

The aim of the visit is to strengthen ties between the two countries and Armed Forces and to explore areas of co-operation in the domain of inspection and auditing. Another objective was to acquire more knowledge about the Defence Inspectorate Division of the South African Department of Defence and to explore the possibility of exchanging knowledge and the training of military personnel.

Major General Dabira, accompanied by Major General Petane, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the South African National Defence Force, General Solly Shoke. Cordial greetings were exchanged, reports the Department of Defence.



General Shoke said that the two countries and Armed Forces had strong relations and both countries had developed under difficult conditions. He also pointed out that the Presidents of the two countries had similar aims in seeking an end to various conflicts and crises on the continent.
