Saab SA appoints new CEO


The company consolidates its local operations under one roof.Saab, the unlisted R1.5 billion turnover telecommunications and defence company, has appointed Riaz Salojee as the new CEO for its South African operations, which includes a range of companies in the Grintek stable.

He comes from a position at Saab International, where he was responsible for SA and other countries in southern Africa.

“As president of the company, Riaz Saloojee will serve as a cohesive force for large parts of Saab`s operations in SA,” a company statement says. “He will report to Dan-Åke Enstedt, executive vice-president and head of the defence and security solutions business segment.”

Saab employs 1 400 people in SA, and its defence business has a turnover of R800 million.
