Paramount Group has been given a Top Employer award by the Top Employers Institute, which recognised the company for its commitment to excellence in people practices.
The award was presented during the Top Employers Institute Certification 2020 Gala Dinner, held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on 21 November.
Paramount said the award was bestowed in recognition of the company’s 25-year commitment to offering a climate of exceptional employee conditions, including high-skills training, leadership development and career and succession management opportunities.
Established over 28 years ago, the Top Employers Institute promotes and recognises excellence in people practices, helping guide corporations from around the globe while enriching the ‘world of work’ in the process.
Through the Top Employers Institute Certification Programme, participating companies can be validated, certified and recognised as an employer of choice. The Top Employers Institute has certified over 1 500 organisations across 118 countries and regions, impacting the lives of over six-million.
Ivor Ichikowitz, Founder and Executive Chairman of Paramount Group, stated that, “Paramount is a remarkable story, an African start-up borne out of a singular vision – to create an equal opportunity industrial enterprise that could support governments around the world to build stability and economic development. Over our 25 years of operation since, we have expanded upon that vision while remaining committed to what are founding principles of corporate governance, including the nurturing of exceptional, fresh talent for the future.
“We have a very unique culture in Paramount and that has always been, and still is, our differentiator as an employer, we practice the art of the possible and as such we make the impossible possible on a daily basis! The environment is fast paced, entrepreneurial, innovative and agile and therefore we look for that ‘can do’ and solutions driven attitude when we recruit. All the people practices that we have designed and implemented to date were aimed at preserving and instilling this culture and ethos.”
“We would also wish to thank our employees, some of the world’s foremost experts and innovators, who come to us from diverse backgrounds but each bringing unique skills-sets that have allowed us to expand upon our best-in-class manufacturing and technological breakthroughs alongside our global reach.”
