Hensoldt upgrades school as part of Mandela Day activities

Hensoldt Optronics South Africa and GEW Technologies came together on Mandela Day to upgrade a local school and donate uniforms and stationery.

The companies focussed their efforts on the Philena Primary School in Olievenhoutbosch on Thursday morning, where they painted classrooms, upgraded the kitchen and made donations towards prefect uniforms. Staff also donated stationery to students.

Hensoldt MD Raynier van der Watt stated that Hensoldt aims to be a responsible corporate citizen of South Africa.

Hensoldt is represented in South Africa by its two subsidiaries Hensoldt Optronics and GEW Technologies. Collectively the two companies are employing approximately 600 employees.

Hensoldt Optronics focuses on the design and supply of specialised electro-optical systems like the Argos and Goshawk airborne targeting and surveillance systems and associated multi-spectral sensors, laser rangefinders, handheld observation systems as well as submarine periscopes for the new build and retrofit submarine market.



GEW Technologies has been a solutions provider for electronic warfare, spectrum monitoring and security for more than fifty years.
