Egypt has announced it will be hosting the first Egyptian International Defense and Military Industries Exhibition (EDEX-2018) in December 2018.
The Ministry of Military Production said the exhibition will be held at the Cairo International Convention Centre between 3 and 5 December 2018 and will cover defence and security at the regional and international levels.
The exhibition is organized in cooperation with Clarion International and will be held once every two years. It will showcase Egyptian military products to international, Arab and African countries but is also meant to give foreign companies a chance to participate and exhibit their products and services.
Major General Mohsen Abdel Nabi said, “This will be the first event of its kind in Egypt, covering air, land and sea. We plan to make EDEX the number one event in the Middle East region. The event will bring the international defence industry to Egypt to demonstrate their capabilities and also offer the Egyptian Military Production companies a platform to showcase their equipment and services to other militaries from around the world.”
“It is Clarion’s pleasure, as one of the largest organizers of international conferences and exhibitions in defence and security around the world, to be given the opportunity to expand in the areas of the exhibition in Egypt in 2018, and we look forward to the implementation of this important event in cooperation with the Egyptian armed forces,” said Tim Porter, chairman of Clarion.
The exhibition is expected to attract more than 300 exhibitors and 10 000 visitors.
