Braddick Defense has entered into an agreement with Austrian company Steyr-Mannlicher to locally distribute its military and law enforcement product range.

According to Adam McCallum, Chairman of the Braddick Technology & Defense Group, the agreement has been in place since April this year and covers the whole Steyr range.

Steyr-Mannlicher makes hunting rifles, sport shooting rifles and pistols for private, military and law enforcement applications. The company also makes the famed AUG assault rifle and has just released the AUG 9 mm submachinegun.

Braddick, meanwhile, has made some small changes to its Mk XII Special Forces Sniper (SFS) series of sniper rifles, including the addition of a bipod from the UK with built in suspension, a different muzzle brake etc.

McCallum said the company is shipping rifles to the United States and there is an order backlog of 40 plus custom rifles at the moment, with orders and demand in the pipeline. Focus at the moment is on the international military and United States markets. Braddick will be exhibiting at the Shot Show in Las Vegas in January 2017.

The Mk XII series is chambered in .308, .338 Lapua Magnum and .50 calibres. All three rifles are bolt action and magazine fed and share similar frame designs and other components. For greatest accuracy, Mk XII barrels are cut from a single billet rather than buttoned or hammer forged.

In addition to the Steyr distributorship, Braddick is now also officially the Hensoldt distributor in South Africa and other select African regions. Hensoldt scopes, previously off limits to civilians, are now available to the shooting public and will be spec’d as standard on Braddick rifles, although the end user is always permitted to their personal choice of scope.
