Bombardier Inc has received six firm orders for business jets in a transaction valued at around US$255 million, said the company.
Bombardier, the world’s No. 3 aircraft maker, said an unnamed customer had ordered three Challenger and three Global jets.
The orders come days after the Montreal-based company reported much a stronger-than-expected quarterly profit, partly due to a revival in business jet orders after a two-year slump, Reuters reports.
Bombardier’s aerospace unit got a major lift this month from a massive order of up to 120 business jets from Warren Buffett’s NetJets Inc, a deal that could be worth as much as US$6.7 billion.
Bombardier’s shares closed 5 Canadian cents weaker at C$7.09 on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The order was announced after the market close.
