BAE secures 59 mln stg Falklands deal extension


BAE Systems Europe’s biggest defence contractor, said it had won a 59 million pound (US$98.56 million) contract extension for the maintenance of a Royal Navy patrol vessel in the Falklands.

The contract for HMS Clyde lasts until 2018 and follows an initial five-year agreement.
“Our ability to deliver repair and maintenance services to warships wherever they are around the world provides real value to the Ministry of Defence,” Mick Ord, Managing Director of BAE Systems’ Surface Ships division, said in a statement.
