Locating WW2 ex-POWs

I’ve received the following from Karen Horn at the University of Stellenbosch:

Dear Leon,

I am writing a thesis on South Africans who participated in World War 2 – specifically those who were captured and who became POWs.

If possible I would like to talk to ex-POWs about their experiences in prison camps and their return to South Africa after the war.

I am also interested in talking to families of POWs (wives, children, etc). If family members have any diaries or letters of POWs that date back to
the war, I would appreciate it very much if I could use those for my research as well.

Anyone who would like to participate in the research is welcome to contact me on 021 808 2268 (work) or 076 481 7956 (mobile telephone).

Thank you,

Karen Horn
