The day before the conference officially starts, SSI’s Chief Technology Officer Denis Morais will be speaking at the first ever Maritime Future Summit.

Morais will discuss technological trends and innovations that will affect the maritime industry in the near future. His topic is billed in the programme as, “Computer-aided ship design and production-Vision 2030” but he has provocatively subtitled his talk, “Constructing Ships for Captain Kirk!”

Morais has been gaining a significant following as a thought leader via his Waveform Blog on this subject and his presentation is an outgrowth of the articles he has recently been publishing. Here is a chance to meet Morais in person, ask questions and gain his insights.

Along with a representative from industry leading tugboat design shop Robert Allan Ltd., SSI CEO Darren Larkins will be highlighting how Canada’s Province of British Columbia (BC) is punching above its weight in the world maritime industry. They will show why naval architects and marine engineers use ShipConstructor to design a wide variety of vessels around the world including the majority of the US Navy’s future fleet. SSI also lays claim to the design of more workboats than any other shipbuilding-specific CAD/CAM application.
