Poynting Antennas has an extensive range of HF, VHF, UHF and SHF omni-directional and directional communication antennas, with the 2012 acquisition of Radiant Antennas significantly adding to this portfolio.
Communication antennas exhibit exceptionally wideband frequency characteristics and high antenna gains, providing the utmost flexibility in diverse communications deployments. In addition, compact form factor design utilising the most recent advanced design techniques and top quality materials provides excellent performance and robustness with a low visual signature.
The addition of Radiant’s HF, VHF and UHF antennas has helped the company to further expand into the communication antenna field. This group of antennas can be separated into three main areas: ground-to-ground, ground-to-air and ground-to-sea.
Poynting Antennas’ ground-to-ground range incorporates HF mobile and base station antennas operating over a frequency range of 2MHz to 30MHz. Directional and omni-directional antennas form the backbone of medium- to long-range communication links used for long-range reconnaissance patrols, peacekeeping and foreign missions. Antennas in the Poynting range include the RLP10-30 HF Log Periodic, HF5M Mobile 5 m Whip, RWD125 HF Wideband Antenna, TAC-HF and 2.7 m Manpack Whips.
For combat network VHF communications, Poynting manufactures a range of portable and transportable rapid deployment VHF antennas for use in harsh environments where short-term effective communications is required, for example: RDA30-90 Tactical Discone, VCF30-108 Mobile Whip and REF30-90.
Poynting manufactures ground-based ground-to-air communications antennas, where wideband and high gain is required to communicate to long-range airborne platforms. Ground-to-air/sea antennas in the Poynting range include the RDB108-420 Dual Bi-Conical, VCF115-175 Ground-Air/Marine Band, VCF225-420 and VCF115-420.
An integrated GPS antenna is also available as an option for most models.
All Poynting antennas are complemented by a range of tactical, telescopic and sectional masts. These masts are useful in applications where lightweight antennas need to be rapidly erected in either forward base station or static mobile communications roles. Poynting masts are manufactured from high-strength composite materials, are lightweight and rugged, and easily transported, carried and deployed.
