Poynting Antennas is attending six shows in 2014 in order to increase the company’s exposure to international and local markets. The plan is to generate valuable and qualified leads and to promote and display some of the highly technical products that Poynting develops and sells, as well as to meet up with existing and potential clients.
Poynting has already been to a local show, MICSSA, in South Africa in February. On the foreign side, company representatives recently attended Defence Services Asia (DSA) in Malaysia in April, Electronic Warfare (EW) Europe in Scotland in May, and NiWeek in Texas this past August. Poynting will exhibit at AAD in South Africa this month, and at the AOC and Milcom shows in the United States in October.
The MICSSA exhibition was a small local show. It provided Poynting with the opportunity to network with clients and local and foreign industry, mostly in the military communications field. The theme for MICSSA 2014 was: “Military information communication technology (ICT) within a rapidly evolving cyber world”.
The DSA exhibition was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was a worthwhile show with several new contacts made in the burgeoning Asian defence market, and Poynting was able to evaluate the competitive Asian landscape. By understanding the local market conditions, the company will be able to offer tailored products and services to meet Asian market export requirements.
Poynting attends the EW Europe show on an annual basis, as EW Europe is a renowned and unrivalled conference and exhibition where the latest trends in EW solutions across land, maritime and aerospace are showcased. This exhibition boasts the largest attendance of any EW gathering in Europe and an exhibition showcasing the latest technology, tools and equipment all under one roof.
This year was the first time Poynting exhibited at NiWeek, which is hosted by National Instruments. This was the 20th Annual NiWeek, a global conference on graphical system design.
The AOC is typically an EW exhibition and Milcom is a communication solutions-orientated exhibition. Both exhibitions should provide Poynting with a good platform to meet with potential clients from both industries.
Events like these and the assistance from the Department of Trade and Industry and the AMD creates opportunities to make South African industry more competitive, enabling company and jobs growth and increasing the value-add and repeat business opportunities for our export customers.
