With the recent delivery of its third 777-300ER (Extended Range) airliner from Boeing, TAAG Linhas Aereas de Angola (Angola Airlines) has become the largest operator of this variant in Southern Africa.
The 777-300ER departed Paine Field in Everett on June 23 for a more than 14 000 kilometre (7 563 nautical mile) non-stop flight to TAAG’s home base in Luanda at Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport.
TAAG took delivery of its first 777-300ER in 2011 and became the first African airline to purchase, own and operate the type. The airline also has one of the largest 777 fleets on the continent with a combination of three 777-200ERs and three 777-300ERs, according to Boeing. The carrier is scheduled add two more 777-300ERs in the coming years.

At the same time, TAAG Angola Airlines renewed its five-year contract for Boeing Maintenance Engineering services.
TAAG will continue to grow its route network by using the 777-300ER fleet for direct routes to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil; Lisbon and Oporto, Portugal, and other European destinations.

Founded in 1938, TAAG operates an all-Boeing fleet of over ten aircraft made up of 777s and a combination of Classic and Next-Generation 737s.
