South African Airways (SAA) has added more flights to three routes: to Accra, Ghana; Perth, Australia and Mumbai, India.

“South African Airways’ growth strategy is focused on further strengthening its African route network, as well as adding capacity on key international routes which have shown a strong growth in demand,” says Theunis Potgieter, SAA General Manager Commercial. “SAA prouds itself in bringing our customers these added travel options,” he adds.

SAA has added capacity on the following routes:

Accra, Ghana

Effective from 19 August SAA will offer an additional flight on a Sunday, which grows the service between Johannesburg and Accra from five to six flights per week. Accra, Ghana is an important travel destination for SAA customers in West Africa. SAA operates its new A330-200s on this route, which offers customer 186 seats in economy and 36 in business class.

Perth, Australia

Effective from 16 August an additional flight will also be added to Perth, Australia, which increases this service from 6 to 7 services per week. Both the A340-300 and the A340-600 will operate this route. Offering SAA customers an extra service is a further highlight of the many years the airline has been flying to Perth and Australia in general. Customers have added value through the connectivity into all the major cities in Australia with Qantas.

Mumbai, India

The route to Mumbai, India was strengthened effective 16 June this year with an additional flight to bring this service to five flights per week from the previous four. Due to an even stronger demand on this route, a further frequency has now been added and SAA will be offering a total of six flights per week with an additional flight on Tuesdays returning on Wednesdays as from 21 August 2012.
“With SAA’s ten flights a week from Johannesburg to São Paulo and three flights a week to Buenos Aires, the airline provides the shortest travel time between India and South America,” the airline says. “The flying time from Mumbai to Buenos Aires is 22 hours and 35 minutes, the only carrier with this short flying time. Customers can depart from Mumbai at 02H05, arrive in Johannesburg at 07H25 and connect to Buenos Aires at 09H50 to arrive in Buenos Aires at 16H10.”
