MTU wins more than 600 million euro in deals

MTU Aero Engines has won contracts worth more than 600 million euros (US$861 million) at the Paris Air Show, the German aircraft engine maker said yesterday.

“That is twice as much as at the last Paris Air Show from two years ago,” Chief Executive Egon Behle said.

MTU is currently finalising its participation with Pratt & Whitney over engines for the revamped A320neo family of aircraft from Airbus.

Airbus has unveiled a series of orders for the new version of the single-aisle jetliner with more fuel-efficient engines at the air show.
