A firm order for ten Airbus A380 superjumbos, described by the European planemaker as a deal with an unidentified customer, was placed by Hong Kong Airlines, an industry source said yesterday.
The aircraft are worth US$3.8 billion at list prices.
Hong Kong Airlines said last week it would announce orders at the Paris Air Show, including A380s.
The Hong Kong-based carrier is 46 percent owned by HNA Group, parent of Hainan Airlines.
An Airbus spokesman refused to comment.
