Holdfast Systems was recently formed to take over the Blast Protection side of Ballistic Body Armour (Pty) Ltd (BBA). HFS is supported by and relies upon the five years of development and research in EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal)/IEDD (Improvised Explosive Device Disposal) equipment that took place at BBA.

We have also entered into a joint venture with a Swiss company called GARANT Sicherheitstechnik AG through our common research and development company Swiss Protection Systems (SPS). This relationship has given us the advantage of collective advanced technologies to create our latest EOD/IEDD apparel the SPS SERIES III. Now as ever we are continuously researching and developing better ways to provide protection.

We at Holdfast Systems intend on staying at the forefront of protection technology in today’s highly volatile EOD/IEDD environment. Our customers can expect hands on service and tailor made products to suit specific conditions or requirements. We actively seek comment and constructive criticism of our products from end users for what we learn from one will benefit all.

Our key methodology is to work with the actual officers/operators, the men at the front line of EOD/IEDD, we then combine this with our own stringent research and product testing programs. Using this key data we determine the best solutions to provide the optimum protection and operator functionality that makes our products tried tested and deemed reliable by those whose safety is our concern.

Blast Testing

One of the aspects that sets Holdfast Systems apart is the fact that we have an active and intensive Blast testing programme. This gives us significant insight as to how our products are performing. We do not simply expose our equipment to explosions of varying degrees, we have built our own test dummy upon which all our suits are placed in order to get the most beneficial information.
