EADS

EADS is a global leader in aerospace, defence, security and related services.
The Group includes the aircraft manufacturer Airbus, the world's largest helicopter supplier Eurocopter and EADS Astrium, the European leader in space programmes from Ariane to Galileo. EADS also develops the A400M through its Military Transport Aircraft Division. In 2007, EADS generated revenues of € 39.1 billion and employed a workforce of about 116,000.

EADS Defence & Security – Networking the Future

The EADS Defence & Security (DS) Division is the defence and security pillar within EADS, driving the Group’s development of integrated system solutions for armed forces and civil security worldwide. The DS portfolio ranges from sensors and secure networks through missiles to aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) as well as global security, service and support solutions.

By recognising the need to be mission-critical and security oriented, DS is preparing its military and civil customers to meet their new global challenges – be it land-based, ship- or airborne.
In 2007
[1], DS – with around 22,000 employees – achieved revenues of € 5.5 billion an an EBIT of €  340 million. The order intake 2007 amounted to  € 7.5 billion while the total order backlog added up to € 17.9 billion.

Defence and Communications Systems´ integrated activities

Defence and Communications Systems (DCS), is the "Systems House" of EADS Defence & Security and offers its military and para-military customers comprehensive and tailored solutions, combining the know-how to design, develop and implement Lead System Integration (LSI) and to link the widest possible range of individual platforms and subsystems into a single effective network. In order to make integrated solutions tangible and demonstrate the strengths of this new security paradigm, DCS has created the simulation centre NetCOS (Network Centric Operations Simulation system).

Defence Electronics’ integrated activities

Defence Electronics (DE), the Electronics House of EADS Defence & Security, develops and manufactures sensors, avionics and electronic warfare systems for  military and security applications. All DE solutions are adapted to meet the changing priorities of security and military forces: command and control capability, reconnaissance, mobility, efficiency in operation,  protection of own forces. Its aim is to provide the customer with high-end products based on key technologies and reliability.

Military Air Systems´ integrated activities


Military Air Systems (MAS) is the integrated competence centre of EADS Defence & Security for airborne military systems. MAS bundles competencies and skills in the areas of combat and manned mission aircraft. MAS is also active in the field of high-performance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). For the systems of the above-mentioned areas, MAS also offers accompanying training programmes and facilities as well as comprehensive system support throughout the in-service phase.

In this way, MAS meets the requirements of modern air forces throughout the entire service life of military air systems. Beginning with design and development, MAS handles everything from engineering, production and systems integration to comprehensive product support during operation. That includes maintenance, repair and upgrades.
