India completes refit of Mauritian patrol vessel

The Indian Navy has completed the refit of the 32 year old Mauritius Coast Guard service vessel MCGS Guardian.

India boosting naval capabilities of Mauritius

Following an official visit of Indian President Ramnath Kovind to Mauritius on 12 March, it was announced that India would provide the island state with an extra $100 million credit line toward military capability-building, as part of the Indian Ocean Region Outreach, which focuses on maritime security, amongst others.

Mauritius Coast Guard commissions new patrol vessel

Mauritius has commissioned into service its second patrol vessel, CGS Valiant, which was built by India’s Goa Shipyard Limited, during a ceremony in Port Louis.

India’s Goa Shipyards Limited has formally handed over the CGS Valiant patrol vessel to Mauritius, which is expected to reach the island nation in June after sailing from India.
