SADC looking at DR Congo and Lesotho

SADC DR Congo LesothoThe Southern African Development Community (SADC) is today putting the DR Congo and Lesotho under the microscope in an effort to resolve at least some of the problems the two troubled states are in.

The meeting of the regional bloc’s double troika summit in Angola is to be chaired by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. It will, according to SAnews, consider the political and security environment of the SADC region.

“The summit will pay specific attention to the implementation of SADC decisions as they relate to Lesotho and the DR Congo,” according to a statement issued by the Presidency.

The SADC double troika comprises South Africa as SADC chair, Namibia, Swaziland, Angola, Zambia and Tanzania.

The meeting was preceded by a double troika ministerial meeting in Luanda where International Relations and Co-operation Minister Lindiwe Sisulu headed the South African delegation.
